Creator Electro Retro has a water tank setup that's filled via a remote pump. In order to top it off when it's down to 50% full he implemented a wireless control setup using two ESP modules. This wireless interface replaces a 50 meter CAT 6 cable that was previously used for control.

The device employs an ESP07S ESP8266 module for the transmitter, which reads inputs from high and low level float switches and sends information on to the pump control unit via the ESP-NOW protocol. The transmitter is constructed out of a homemade PCB, and enclosed in a waterproof housing to withstand the elements.

The receiver unit features an ESP32-WROOM-32 module for control and wireless functions. A homemade PCB is also used for this setup, which includes a relay for motor control, along with a current sensor. The device monitor both current and voltage to ensure each is within a set range. If current is too low when the motor is running, this can indicate that it's running dry, and other out of the norm values could indicate problems as well.

The receiver is equipped with a 1.8" TFT display for user interface, in addition to several buttons and a rocker switch mounted in a custom 3D-printed lid for the enclosure. Onboard controls allow the user change settings, top up the tank, or operate manually as needed.
