Gore‘s next-generation PolyVent High Airflow flows twice the air of its predecessor, and it has an improved O-ring that is UL-rated for flammability resistance.

"Engineered to handle the large pressure differentials caused by extreme weather conditions, the PolyVent High Airflow provides the same ingress protection as Gore's prior generation of high airflow vents. For enclosures up to 50 litres, it provides protection against extreme conditions that can damage seals and outdoor electronics," claimed the firm.

Throughput of is 4 litres/min at 70 mbar pressure differential and meets IP66, IP67, IP68 (1 hour immersion at 2m) and IP69k (high-pressure steam).

Its treated membrane also has oleophobic as well as hydrophobic resistance.

Use is expected in two types of sealed outdoor product:

Those requiring more airflow because the enclosure is large (up to the 50 litre limit)

Those requiring more airflow to allow the use of thinner walls or less rugged seals

The O-ring is rated UL 94 V-0 for flammability resistance. "Our vent caps and vent bodies already have earned UL 94 V-0 ratings. We strive to keep fine-tuning all components of our venting solutions," said Gore protective vents manager Torsten Eifler.

Installation is crew-in, fittin gthe same hole as the prior generation, and it comes in black (part PMF100585) or white (PMF100586).
