Top actuated reverse through

The RT1105 series from E-Switch is a top actuated reverse-through-hole mounted

The RT1105 series from E-Switch is a top actuated reverse-through-hole mounted tact switch, providing up to 100,000 cycle life in a 6.8 x 6.8mm footprint which is 3.7mm high from the PCB surface when mounted.

Related to the company's more conventional TL1105, the series provides a choice of actuating forces, identified by different colour actuators: 160g (red), 260g (dark gray) and 350g (blue).

It is designed to be mounted on a PCB and operated through a hole in the board.

"The initial intent of the reverse mount is to be a reset type of switch so it can be actuated from the backside," E-Switch told Electronics Weekly. "The reverse mount keeps the actuator out of the wave solder."

Kinks in the leads keep it in place for soldering and its four stand-offs contact the board once soldered, with the 3.4mm diameter actuator protruding 0.7mm into the hole – so its top surface is 0.8mm under-flush on a typical 1.5mm board. Travel is 0.25mm.

The silver contact is single pole normally-open and rated for 50mA and 12Vdc with initial resistance of 100mΩ max and 100MΩ insulation at 100Vdc. Contact bounce is 10ms max, and the switch is rated for use over -20°C to 85°C. Dielectric strength is 250Vac for 1 minute.

This tact series is suitable for audio-visual equipment, computer peripherals, computers, medical equipment and telecommunication devices, as well as test and instrumentation equipment.

E-Switch is based in Minnesota.
